Brenric Stables
where Allegheny Equestrians ride
Brenric Stables was established in 1990 by Rick and Brenda Hall. It is located on a 100 acre farm, four miles north of Edinboro on the corner of 99 and Old State Road. It is a full care, boarding, lesson and a sales facility, offering both English and Western riding lessons, from beginner to advanced. The facility includes both an indoor riding arena with a heated viewing area and an outdoor lighted sand arena and miles of trails. It has four professional instructors, one of which is the only USHJA certified instructor in the area.
Within the facility are four collegiate equestrian teams that currently compete in the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) and one high school team that competes in the IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) along with a large number of public and private lessons.
Halli Bidwell is originally from Pepper Pike, Ohio where she earned many end of the year awards and qualified for the Maclay Regional Finals. The summer after graduating from high school she went to California and was a working student that summer with international trainers and Olympic equestrian team members, Bernie and Christine Traurig. She earned a degree from Edinboro University of PA and worked at Foxcrest Farms retraining race horses. In the summers and weekends, she would go back to Cleveland to work at The Hunt Club with Ken Smith and Howard Lewis, and Chagrin Valley Farms with Karen and Kevin Lenehan.
In 1996, Halli started training and teaching at Brenric Stables, a private sales barn. A few years later she had an opportunity to work at The Willows Equestrian Center which is a show facility. While at The Willows, Halli started coaching The Allegheny College and Mercyhurst University Equestrian Teams.
In 2003 she came back to Brenric Stables where she continues to teach, train and ride. Many of her students have enjoyed much success, end of the year awards, IHSA, IEA Championships and Zone awards.
